A Front-Row Seat to 35 Years of East Noble Volleyball
For 35 years, Heidi has been keeping the scoreboard for East Noble Volleyball, and what started as a love for the game has turned into a lifelong tradition. Having played volleyball herself in high school, Heidi never imagined just how many years she would spend in the gym, keeping track of every point, set, and match. Through countless games, seasons, and memories, she has watched generations of players take the court, all while doing her part to support the program she has loved for more than three decades.
But this story is even more special because volleyball has always been a family affair. When her daughter, Payton, played volleyball for East Noble for four years, Heidi was right there keeping the scoreboard for her, too. Now, Payton has come full circle in her own way, returning to East Noble as the head coach. And where is Heidi? Right where she has been for 35 years, still keeping the scoreboard while watching her daughter lead the team. From watching Payton play to watching her coach, Heidi has had a front-row seat to some pretty special moments.
Thirty-five years is a lot of volleyball! It means countless matches, unforgettable memories, friendships, exciting wins, and heartbreaking losses. But perhaps the best part of this journey is seeing how a love for the game has been carried from one generation to the next. What began when Heidi played in high school has become a tradition that now includes her daughter coaching the very program she once played for. The players and seasons may change, but Heidi is still there, scoreboard in front of her, supporting East Noble Volleyball and cheering on Payton. Some traditions are simply too special to ever let go of!
