Here’s the thing about parenting #1
Hold on! Here’s the thing…
She really didn’t need our help.
She’s perfectly capable of moving into her last semester of college all on her own. She’s grown, independent, and has this whole thing pretty much figured out.
But we went anyway.
Not because she needed us.
Because we needed one more little piece of time with her.
There’s something bittersweet about watching your kids grow into adults. You spend years teaching them how to do life without you, and then suddenly… they don’t need you quite as much.
So, when they let you tag along?
You go.
You carry the boxes. You make the Target run. You grab the coffee. You unpack a few things that probably could have waited.
And you soak up every minute.
Because maybe this season of parenting isn’t about being needed anymore.
Maybe it’s about being invited.
And I’ll take that invitation every single time.
Sidenote: Ally used this double-sided tape all 4 years. It held up pictures, small shelves, electrical cords, and other random décor. Two thumbs up if you need to hang things up without drilling holes.
